ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider

Hi, I’m Claire.

I am a licensed marriage & family therapist in North Carolina. My clinical focus areas include neurodivergent (ADHD/ASD) populations, couples therapy, life transitions, anxiety, and college student issues.

Building trust with my clients and empowering them to make change in their lives and relationships is my priority. I believe empathy and authenticity are an important part of the therapeutic relationship.

I am a woman with ADHD. I love spending time with my beagle, Coach, exploring new places, and cheering on the Hurricanes during hockey season. Connection and authenticity are core values that I bring with me to therapy.

My Approach

I view therapy as a journey we are both on, with different destinations. I am here to help you identify obstacles, explore where you want to go, and assist you in making the best changes for yourself and your relationships. Ultimately, you are the one in charge of your life and I am here to guide, offer support, and point out problem areas you may not see.

Treatment Models:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Gottman Method

  • Attachment-based

  • Relational/Couples Therapy

"It’s like you’re in the process of climbing up a big mountain that has lots of dangerous places on it. My job is to watch out for you and shout out directions if I can see places you might slip or hurt yourself. But I’m not able to do this because I’m standing at the top of your mountain, looking down at you. If I’m able to help you climb your mountain, it’s because I’m on my own mountain, just across a valley. I don’t have to know anything about exactly what it feels like to climb your mountain to see where you are about to step, and what might be a better path for you to take."

Overcoming Disconnection and Conflict in Relationships

I understand how painful it is when your relationship feels like it's slipping away. Misunderstandings and miscommunication can leave you feeling isolated, insecure, and frustrated. Challenges such as difficulty connecting with your partner, ongoing conflict, or the added layer of neurodivergence, such as ADHD or autism, can build walls between even the closest people. It’s not just emotional distance that grows—it’s the sense of being unheard, unseen, and perhaps even unloved.

These struggles don’t only impact the couple; they affect other areas of life, too. Without a solid emotional foundation, even daily tasks can feel overwhelming. What starts as a few unresolved arguments or moments of disconnection can spiral into feelings of hopelessness, making it hard to see a path back to connection.

The Toll of Unresolved Relationship Issues

When relationship problems go unchecked, they can feel overwhelming. Communication breakdowns lead to constant conflict or emotional withdrawal, causing both partners to retreat into their own corners rather than working together. Neurodivergent individuals might find themselves battling a world that doesn’t seem to understand them, leading to frustration and unmet needs. This emotional distance can take a toll on your well-being, leading to stress, anxiety, and even physical health issues.

In this state, it’s easy to feel trapped in a cycle. The more you try to communicate, the more challenging it becomes to make progress. You might feel that no matter what you say or do, nothing changes. Unresolved issues can push couples to the brink, where leaving seems like the only option.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
